San Diego County's 2025 Point-in-Time Count identified 9,905 people experiencing homelessness, a seven percent decrease from the prior year's regional total.

The Regional Task Force on Homelessness reported declines among families and veterans as well as in the overall count. The tally combined people in shelters with those found sleeping outdoors or in vehicles during a single night.

Point-in-Time results are best read as a minimum snapshot, not a census. Changes in weather, volunteer coverage and where people sleep can affect who is found, while the count cannot capture everyone who moves through homelessness during a year.
