Point Loma asked Bea Levi to stop five shots against the second-ranked team in Division II. She stopped all five. The Sea Lions left Kellogg Stadium with a 0-0 draw Saturday after Cal Poly Pomona controlled the volume but could not break Levi's first college shutout.
The Broncos attempted 14 shots to Point Loma's four and earned 10 corners to the Sea Lions' four. Five Cal Poly Pomona attempts reached the goal; two PLNU shots did. The imbalance kept the pressure pointed toward Levi, especially after halftime, without producing the action that changes every other number: a goal.
Point Loma created the first clean attempt. Abby Wright put a shot toward the bottom-left corner in the 17th minute, and goalkeeper Parker LaMont saved it. Cal Poly Pomona answered with two on-target chances before halftime, from Charlie Gallardo and Carly Radke. Levi handled both, sending the teams into the break level.
The second half tightened around the Sea Lions. Radke tested Levi in the 46th minute, Angelina Santana followed in the 49th and forced another stop in the 58th. Cal Poly Pomona took nine shots and five corners after the break. PLNU managed two shots during the same span.
Grace Nelson supplied the Sea Lions' best second-half look in the 67th minute, putting a shot on target that LaMont saved. Gianna Masinter had sent an earlier attempt high. Those two attacks were all Point Loma recorded after halftime, leaving the defense and Levi to protect the result through the final 23 minutes.
Radke led the Broncos with five shots, two on goal. Levi played all 90 minutes behind a Point Loma back line that included Jenna Bisset, Molly Bachman and Abby Buys for the full match. Their work reduced 14 attempts to five saves and kept the remaining nine away from the frame.
The point moved PLNU to 1-1-2 and extended its unbeaten run to three matches. It also stopped a three-game Cal Poly Pomona winning streak in the series. The Broncos entered 3-0-0 and carried the status of 2024 national champion and 2025 national semifinalist, making the defensive result meaningful without turning it into a claim that the teams were otherwise even. The official attendance was 200, and the foul count stayed close at 10 against Pomona and nine against Point Loma. That balance held even while the shot totals separated sharply.
They were not even in chance volume. Cal Poly Pomona's 10 corners and second-half pressure demanded repeat defending, while Point Loma produced only two saves from LaMont. The result belongs to efficiency of a different kind: the Sea Lions did not finish scarce chances, but they cleared or blocked enough danger that Levi could finish every shot she faced.
Point Loma hosts Cal State LA on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. The task changes with the venue and likely with the possession balance. Saturday's draw gives PLNU a stable defensive reference and a clear attacking limit. Four shots can secure a point when the goalkeeper is perfect. It rarely gives a team enough routes to claim all three.
